Heritage Center welcomes new administrator

MORRISTOWN, Tenn. (April 16, 2024) – The Heritage Center, a local skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility, recently welcomed Maria Farmer as its new executive director.

Farmer has a bachelor’s degree in health administration from East Tennessee State University. During her undergraduate studies, she completed an internship at Life Care Center of Athens, and after graduating began an administrator-in-training program there. In early 2024, she completed her program at Life Care Center of Blount County and earned her nursing home administrator license. She was promoted to administrator at The Heritage Center on April 1.

“My time at The Heritage Center has been nothing short of amazing,” Farmer said. “I am blessed to be a part of such a kind, knowledgeable and hardworking team. Every day, they impress me with their work ethic and caring nature. Since day one, the staff and residents have made me feel so welcome. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to spend my days with.”

When asked about her job as an administrator, Farmer said she enjoys developing relationships with residents and staff.

“This is such a rewarding role,” she said. “I love getting to know everyone and their stories. Seeing the residents is always a bright spot in my day, and I am grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact in their lives.”

Farmer is excited about the future of the center. Her goals are to continue to foster a positive work environment, create meaningful connections and deliver exceptional care to patients.

“With our dedicated team and amazing residents, I have no doubts.” she said. “I can’t wait to see what our future holds! I am so grateful to be stepping into this role at The Heritage Center. I look forward to getting to know everyone better and working closely with others in the community.”
