Storm clean up hotline announced

An organization that can help those affected by the floods has been set up.

If you need help cleaning up dirt, mud, debris, trees and other damages left behind by rising waters, you can call the Hurricane Helene Cleanup Hotline at 844-965-1386. The hotline is open Monday through Friday. You can also visit their website at crisiscleanup.org.

You’ll be put in touch with volunteers from local relief organizations, community groups, and faith communities who may be able to provide the assistance you need.

There are volunteers who provide these services free of charge and provide the tools and equipment necessary to do the work. The services are free, however they are also in high demand, so while the service isn’t guaranteed, every effort is being made to assist as many as possible.

Note that this hotline cannot be used to assist with social services such as food, clothing, shelter, insurance, or questions about FEMA registration. The service is only available to help with damages from the recent flood event and not previous storms or damages.
